Karl Barth and the Making of Evangelical Theology.

I received a Amazon gift card for Christmas and I bought this book.  Just published.   I found the second essay by David Congdon very interesting.

Barth on Providence of God

"It would be in conflict with the concept of His goodness if He could do this but for some reason, eg. disgust or boredom at His work, would not do so. On all these assumptions God would not be God but a kind of demon of very doubtful qualities.  But God is the highest good, and He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and as such the fulness of power, goodness and wisdom, and all in inseparable unity.  But he cannot act like that demon, but acts as sovereign and living Lord of His creature".   KBCD III/3 p.14
